Doha, Qatar Travel Guide for Nigerian Travellers

Why Doha Suits Nigerian Travellers

Doha sits on one of the busiest connecting routes out of Lagos, which makes it easy to turn a layover into a short holiday. The city is compact, safe, and mixes desert excursions, modern architecture and traditional souqs within a small area.

It also pairs well with a longer trip — a few nights in Doha before continuing to Asia or Europe adds a destination without adding a separate long-haul fare.

Entry Requirements

Check the current Qatari entry rules for Nigerian passport holders before booking, as visa and transit-visa policies are updated periodically. Confirmed hotel bookings and a valid onward ticket are normally part of the requirement, and our team can prepare the supporting documents with you.

Best Time to Visit

The cooler months are far more comfortable for sightseeing on foot.

  • November to March: pleasant temperatures, ideal for the Corniche and desert trips
  • April and October: warm but manageable, with fewer crowds
  • June to August: very hot — plan indoor attractions and evening outings
  • Ramadan alters opening hours; check dates before scheduling tours

Three Days in Doha

Enough time to see the highlights without rushing.

  • Day 1: Souq Waqif, the Corniche promenade and a traditional dhow cruise
  • Day 2: Museum of Islamic Art, National Museum of Qatar and Katara Cultural Village
  • Day 3: Desert safari to the Inland Sea, then The Pearl for dinner

What It Costs

Doha spans budget to ultra-luxury. Mid-range hotels near the Corniche or West Bay give the best balance of price and location, and the metro is inexpensive and easy to use. Alcohol is restricted to licensed venues and is expensive, which is worth factoring into an evening budget.
