At roughly 1,576 metres above sea level, the plateau sits above the cloud line for much of the year. Mornings begin with mist rolling between the ridges before the sun burns it away to reveal deep valleys.
The temperate climate here is unlike anywhere else in Nigeria, with daytime highs around 20°C and genuinely cold nights.
